A charter captain’s reputation is based on one thing: our ability to find and catch fish.
Success is the name of our game. Our livelihoods depend on it.
About us
A quarter of a century ago we were looking for better ways to catch our clients fish. Bucktail jigs worked fine, but we wanted a lure that would catch fish on the drop, too. The slow fall jig market from Japan was starting to increase in popularity, and a bunch of us experimented with a variety of options. We designed one that out fished ‘em all. It had squid-style wings molded into the jig head that slowed down the lure’s descent and added a sexy side-to-side flutter that fish couldn’t resist. Red snappers whacked them on the drop, they pounded them when slow or vertical jigged on the bottom, and others smoked ‘em when they were reeled in. And with that, our company was born.
Like anglers do, we always want to catch more fish and with something new. So we added to the original Snapper Slapper squid head style, with heavy metal Slapper Rip Rollers, SK Jigs, and other flashy metal jigs. Some dance and vibrate on the horizontal drop and attract the attention of our favorite bluewater species. They prompt a strike on the drop as well as on the jig. Double metallic and glow-in-the-dark sides and contrasting colors create a blinking flash on the horizontal drop and the two hooks allow us to bring ‘em up two on at a time.
Whether you’re a charter captain or a recreational angler, Snapper Slappers and Slapper Jigs give you a professional edge. Fish them anyway you want, they’ll catch ‘em up when jigged, trolled, casted, or drifted. Tip the dual assist hooks with natural bait for scent or go bare, and you’ll see why so many anglers have made Snapper Slappers their go-to jigs. We hope you will, too.
